Technology & Time Lapse Feature
Hi, I am Dr. Richard Koeltl. I wanted to talk a little bit more about some of the features on the iTero scanner.
One of the things we have on here is time lapse, and this is an example which you see on the screen of time-lapse of two scans that we’re about three years apart.
What we can see here is we can see change that’s going on in this particular tooth. We can see significant amounts of movement over that period of time. As you look down here on this part of the screen, the colors indicate the amount of change that’s gone on, and you can see just over that small amount of time, we could see a lot of changes in the mouth.
Technology - iTero Scanner
Hi, I am Dr. Richard Koeltl. I was talking today about technology and one of the pieces of technology that we use is the iTero scanner.
It’s largely replaced any need for us to take dental impressions, which, uh, if you’re like me, not something you enjoy too much.
It’s 3D digital video scans of your mouth. That gives us a virtual model
where we can evaluate things like gum recession, tooth wear, tooth movement also gives us a good idea of your bite. And additionally, it has something called IR to help us detect cavities earlier and sometimes when they’re still preventable, which is always better.
Uh, so iTero scanning is a new thing we’re doing and we try to do this yearly so we can monitor your teeth in a much more, uh,
detailed manner.
Technology "Before & After" Invisalign Cases with iTero
Hi, I am Dr. Richard Koeltl. I wanna talk a little bit more about another feature on the iTero scanner that really can show us before and afters for Invisalign cases.
Right here you’re looking at is a before scan versus an after scan where you can see a great improvement in the bite.
And we can also see is improved straightening of the bottom front teeth, where there’s quite a bit of crowding over here, and we have a pretty nice alignment of those bottom front teeth over here.
So that’s just another feature we have on our scanner. That’s another feature we offer here in the office is Invisalign treatment.
